(Absurd humor WARNING)
As a self-serving Catholic school teacher, I find some of this trend disturbing.
It's not that I don't want others to achieve salvation, it's that just I wish that it would not also be a threat to my livelihood.
On a serious note, the overriding main component of effective child and adolescent catechesis is parental involvement.
The means of catechizing youth - homeschool, parochial school, parish catechetical programs - has little importance compared to the priority the faith live is given, and how it is lived, in the home.
Parents that "do" Catholic homeschooling, obviously make their faith a very high priority.
