On the Twenty-Fifth Day of December

Countless ages after the creation of the world,
when, in the beginning, God created heaven and earth,
and fashioned the human race in his own image

many ages after God Most High had placed the rainbow in the clouds
as a pledge and sign of peace after the Flood

two thousand and one hundred years after Abraham, our father in faith,
migrated out of Ur of the Chaldeans

one thousand and three hundred years after Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt

about a thousand years after the anointing of David as king

in the sixty-fifth week according to the prophecy of Daniel

in the one-hundred and ninety-fourth Olympiad

seven hundred and fifty two years after the founding of the city of Rome

in the forty-second year of the reign of Caesar Octavian Augustus

all the world being at peace

JESUS CHRIST,
ETERNAL GOD AND SON OF THE ETERNAL FATHER,
WISHING TO CONSECRATE THE WORLD BY HIS MERCIFUL COMING,
WAS CONCEIVED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT,
AND, AFTER NINE MONTHS HAD PASSED,
WAS BORN OF THE VIRGIN MARY, AND BECAME MAN.

THIS IS THE BIRTH-CELEBRATION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST ACCORDING TO THE FLESH.

This is much better than the USCCB 'translation'. Merry Christmas!
