San Diego Padres? St. Louis Cardinals? The White Sox?

[Note concerning the third photo. On Good Friday the pope removed his shoes before kissing the Cross, the Tree of Life. This recalls God who spoke to Moses from the Burning Bush telling him to remove his sandals because he was on holy ground.]

Gospel for the 3rd Sunday of Easter: "The Easter Bunny is a fake, but the Easter Fishy is for real"

Luke 24:35-43

Then the two disciples told what had happened on the road [to Emmaus],
and how Jesus was known to them in the breaking of the bread.
As they were saying this,
Jesus himself stood among them.
But they were startled and frightened,
and supposed that they saw a spirit.
And he said to them,
"Why are you troubled,
and why do questionings rise in your hearts?
See my hands and my feet,
that it is I myself;
handle me, and see;
for a spirit has not flesh and bones as you see that I have."
And while they still disbelieved for joy, and wondered,
he said to them,
"Have you anything here to eat?"
They gave him a piece of cooked fish,
and he took it and ate before them.

The Easter Fishy is for real, and so is the PHYSICAL resurrection of Christ.

"Yes, I read it in English. Don't you?"

The Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church has only 200 pages.

In the form of "questions and answers" it offers a quick overview of the essential contents of the faith. It includes prayers and short Catholic teaching statements.

There is no excuse for an adult Catholic not to have an adult understanding of the faith.

No excuse!

If you're reading this blog, you can read the Compendium.

If you read this blog, but never get the Compendium, you might end up in hell.

So stop reading this blog!

"still Easter!"

"The Lord is truly risen . . . yessss!"

After praying the Regina coeli with pilgrims in St. Peter Square today, the Pope's first greetings were in Greek and Russian to wish Happy Easter to the Orthodox Churches.

“My best regards go to our brothers of the Eastern Churches which are celebrating Easter today,” Benedict XVI said.

“May the Risen Lord bring to all the gifts of His Light and Peace. Christos anesti! Christos vaskries!”
