What does a priest do all day?

Multiply the following by two or three times a week since Christmas Day.

Visit a dying person.
After the person dies, meet with the family to plan the funeral.
Lead prayers at the wake/vigil/rosary on the night before the funeral.
Offer the Funeral Mass.
Go to the cemetery for the burial.

We've had an avalance of deaths in this parish since Christmas Day.

That's only one aspect of priestly ministry.

It's been difficult for me to get to the blog at all.

There are few bloggers quite so well worth waiting for.

There is scientific evidence that people will "put off" death until after a special occassion such as a holiday or birthday.

Looking forward to more postings after Easter, Father. As a one-time Protestant minister, I know that a single funeral can disrupt the entire week. I never had more than one in a week back then, but the priests in my parish (just two of them) often have three. God bless and I agree with Jeffrey...your blog is worth the wait!
