Did more than 150,000 adults become Catholics on Holy Saturday in the U.S.A.?

In 2005 in the U.S.A., 154,501 adults received full initiation into the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist. The universal moment for their reception would have been at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday night.

The tallies are not yet published for 2006 or 2007.

However, you can read about the initiations on the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
