This is one of the things hardly ever mentioned. That the changes to the lectionary (besides the translations) were very good. People get caught up in the changes that were never authorized by VII and forget the positive ones in the aftermath of VII.
You would not believe the grief I get from people when I mention the shortcomings of the old lectionary and express my opinion that with the reestablishment of widespread use of the old Mass it's lectionary should be changed.

Maybe part of the "motu proprio" will be a call to expand the "Tridentine" lectionary.
