I understand what you are saying. I am a Catholic convert from Mormonism. I was afraid too. But, even my Mom at 80 became a Catholic and her father was a Mormon Bishop. By the way, my son who is a Catholic Priest, baptised us both and his late father's family disowned him for becoming a Catholic Priest. He prays for them and is not bothered by it any more. The devil will do anything he can to try to stop you. Don't let him. I am also a third order Carmelite and joining the Catholic Church is the best thing I have ever done. God bless you.
