Less competition now

Okay! I got the monastery a Netzero account. That means that even while the employees in the guest office, the giftshop and the library are on our AOL account, the monks can still go online.

I'm still settling into my responsibilities. So blogging will continue to be intermittent for some days.

[By the way, Bob Farrell, I'm glad to know you like my shaving cream. Back in the 70's mine was lime-scented. However, since the 80's nothing but an electric razor has touched my cheeks.]

Seriously though, if you are assigned duties as designated in "The Rule", would you be able to write a post describing how you are expected to fulfill those specific duties in your 21st Century abbey?

Abbot Placid of New Norcia, Western Australia told me once of the rules provision regarding monks and underwear.

As he told it, monks are to wear underwear while travelling. Upon their return, it it so be surrendered to the quartermaster for washing and storage, until another monk should embark on a journey.
