A hot anniversary date

When monks from St. Meinrad Archabbey, Indiana, first began living on the property where they founded my monastery, there was nothing but a ranch house on the land. October 18 (the Feast of St. Luke), 1958, was the first time they used the fireplace in the ranch house. Every year we still light the first fire of our "cold" season on the Feast of St. Luke.

*Twilight Zone*

I broke down early this year and flipped on the heater for a while last night. I usually try and hold out until Thanksgiving...but all of a sudden on Thursday it was decidedly chilly. From my visits to Prince of Peace, I expect you had a pretty good fog cover up there the last few days.
That "night and morning coastal jazz" you're glad you don't have to drive to work in. It's hard to believe it's a month since Abbot Claude died.
