A Manual of Theory and Operations for the Vocation of Every Human Person

You’ll find it in numbers 1691 through 2051 (in other words, on pages 421 through 495) of the CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. That amounts to the three chapters in Section One of Part Three of the Catechism. Here’s an outline.

PART THREE: LIFE IN CHRIST
Section One: Man’s Vocation: Life in the Spirit
Chapter One: The Dignity of the Human Person
Chapter Two: The Human Community
Chapter Three: God’s Salvation: Law and Grace

I remember my catechism when I was growing up . it was a frightful book . hard to read let alone understand, the pages were very thin [ the Baltimore catechism], and the text was very small.
it was beat into us by the nuns who elaborated on it with brimstone and fire. [ now really how is a 11 year old supposed to grasp that ????]
that was many years ago ..
the bottom line here as I reflect on it was all about CONTROL
and I see in your blog here, you have “comment moderation “. .
its no different than what the nuns tried to beat into us 60 years ago...
it seems the “ control” issues are still very much alive even after all those years of trying to identify with god consciousness, [ which is the basis of spirituality] but submitting to control and out dated dogma. because YOU said so .
.[ comment moderation]
nothing has changed in 60 years. .
except I became closer to god, and realized that intellectual mediocrity [ catechisms etc] has nothing to do with ones salvation but is about control , which is what the church is about anyway.
thanks for sharing. you are my inspiration for the NEXT 60 years. [ a good reason to stay away from the church]
no wonder why so many people are leaving the church.
keep up the good work .

The Church in the U.S. is actually growing. That is due not merely to immigrants. It is also due to thousands joining the Church in local parishes. For instance, here in San Diego County, there are more than a thousand who join the Church every year.

As for comment moderation....
There are persons who post obscenities and links to pornography on Catholic blogs. I have had to delete some of those things from my blog. Comment moderation is how I prevent it from happening. In a similar way, your own blog is set up to advocate the prevention of religion.

Dear Sattvicwarrior:

Aho! Thanks for the understanding!

As you say, you have your blog to show that religion has generally evolved into an evil force.

If a good man of integrity comes across evil, he must do what he can to counterract it. (I wonder if that is connected with the word "warrior" in your screen name here.)

However, while the world needs those who will be warriors against evil, the world also needs kings who bring peace and goodness. The mere absence of evil is not automatically the presence of good.

So, to balance your own blog that shows the evil force that you judge religion to have become in general, would you ever create a blog that proposes a good force as you see it?

WELL IF I HAD THE TIME. . BUT GOOD GRIEF MATE. THIS BLOG STUFF TAKES A LOT OF TIME. AND TO KEEP A THEME GOING IS TUFF.
what’s unique about this [ blog stuff] is nobody ever really speaks out about the discrepancies in religion so they just turn the other cheek so to speak.
There is a good reason why. it really doesn’t affect them personally., its not their “ problem”. so they go on living thier lives as nothing for the , most part is wrong.. And people in difficult situations go on suffering or remain in their state of confusion, and are still not helped even with a few crumbs of compassion outside of said institution .
How many sermons for example do people listen to at a Sunday mass for example where it is the same old diatribe, and they are just going through the motions of “ being” there at the service, the priest talks about the same old thing and the people doze off as they always do and nothing changes.
I have been through [ what seems like] CENTURIES of such droning .
Where is the goodness in that ???
i.e. going to church and just going through the motions???
a collective consciousness of a group of people do NOT constitute the actuality of being as TRUTH.
They go back to their mundane life's and live with the same prejudice and hate for others that don’t think the way they do- just like they did before they went to said service..
I have seen SO many hateful people in religious orders that it would make ya want to puke.
Not all of course. there are many genuine people out there willing to guide one through spiritual difficulty, , and, I have found out they are not a bunch of overweight self righteous men running around in spiritual drag waving their arms and pretending to be something they are not.
enlightened..
Ones spiritual development is a serious and wonderful thing, but when it so glossed over with centuries of outdated dogma it should give one reason to pause.
when the person on the “ path” becomes the “ path”, then the whole meaning of spirituality is lost.
My blog is just giving a different perspective. perhaps it will give people a chance to stand back and detach themselves for only a moment and take a “ check “ where they are at for the moment ..[ most of the hate mail I get are from “ good Christians” ]
People have lost sight of their own spirituality, and personal identity with god. because the CHURCH and all its dogma has made it so . God has been around a LOT longer than religion has. he AINT goin NO WHERE. because he is EVERYWHERE..
and most places he can be found OUTSIDE of a church.
It’s the wind the sky the colour of plants and flowers, and people smiling and caring for each other, and doing simle coperate works of mercy, I see it all the time.
it’s the universe and galaxies and all points beyond cosmic consciousness that cant even begin to be imagined because its an experience, not volumes of books of what “ hell is like and heaven is like”.
Its not dogma that is written on centuries of variations of someone thinking principle of what is right or wrong. with rules and regulations of where one is going to spend their proverbial eternity.
Its an EXPERIENCE and that comes form within. NOT from without.
People are good by nature. . This [ blog] is all about “ please louise don’t take yourself to seriously
IF true evil comes before me . I will DESTROY it. because I KNOW I can . ”..
others need a little guidance. but one must learn in this ever so short process called life. we are all in this together. , and we will help each other to one degree or another as best we can Its what people do naturally. and they don’t need a set of books to tell them otherwise.
wow.
I really got off on a roll there huh??
sorry.
be careful what ya ask for. ya just may get it......
have a good day:)
thanks

Dear Sattvicwarrior,

Well, it's a sincere roll you're on.

Yes, blogging takes time.

I'm simply interested in what creative, life-generating, and goodness-generating endeavor you would undertake as a positive alternative to the evils you see.

I'm okay with you're wanting to be a warrior against evil. However, it's not enough to oppose evil. A man must also do positive good. Otherwise there's just a vacuum that people will fill with what they're capable of (sometimes capable of evil, sometimes capable of good).

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH WHAT YA SAY ON THAT . BUT THIS FORMAT IS LIMITED, AND ITS THE BEST I CAN DO FOR THE MOMENT. LETS FACE IT. THIS AINT GONNA CHANGE THE ORDER OF THE UNIVERSE!!
thanks:)|
