Catholics paying honor to a promoter of abortion?

In 2004, the U.S. bishops issued the mandate entitled, “Catholics in Political Life,” in which they state:
The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.
Despite that, the University of Notre Dame has chosen to President Obama as its commencement speaker this coming May 17. He is our history’s most pro-abortion presidential candidate, and since becoming president has repeatedly acted in favor of abortion both in policies and in appointments of personnel.

In the last four days, more than 80,000 have signed one particular petition in protest. At, you can sign that petition and learn about other actions you may take.
