The world's oldest Benedictine monk died yesterday.

Fr. Theodore Heck, O.S.B., monk and priest of St. Meinrad Archabbey, Indiana. He was 108 years old. His monastery's school of theology has an article online.

I wonder if he was related to Bishop Steinbach, formerly of the Diocese of Orange.

Very impressive servant, but what impressed me most was that the BEGAN pastoral ministry at age 70 and continued for 17 years!!! His parishoners must have felt incredibly blessed.
